My Credentials and Experience

I first studied Conflict Resolution and the Department for Peace Studies at the University of Bradford. I’m very much a people person and have always been fascinated by our internal conflicts as well exploring our commonalities and division between others.

A number of years later I took my education further and completed an MA in international Studies & Diplomacy at SOAS, University of London

In 2020 I completed my ICF-accredited diploma in Transformational Coaching at the Animas Centre for Coaching.

I offer 1:1 coaching relationships with professionals and individuals on self-leadership and traditional leadership.

Why I coach

I have always been fascinated by our relationship with ourselves and others

I began my working life in the conflict resolution sector as a neighbourhood mediator, helping neighbours communicate their needs and interests towards reaching a voluntary resolution.

Working in the mediation space is challenging, emotionally-charged, and yet can be powerfully fulfilling for the people involved and the mediator. Two observations became clear to me very quickly. We do not give ourselves the time and space to talk through our thoughts and ideas, and we tend to not communicate well with the people around us.

After some time I made a ‘squiggly’ change and co-founded a small social enterprise that applied conflict resolution approaches and communal dining supporting chefs from often marginalised circumstances living in London (U.K). I was positively struck by how cooking and eating together brought people together from all walks of life - using the dining space and time away from life’s stresses and worries.

It wasn’t until 2020 when I trained as an ICF-accredited transformational coach that I realised how enriching and how valuable an investment coaching can be for ourselves in the workplace and in our personal lives. It allowed me to take stock of many of the thoughts and challenges we can all face - working in small teams, working for ourselves, the anxieties, stresses, lack of direction, and what our day-to-day fulfilment and happiness can look like.

When I'm in conversations with my own coach I cherish how powerful it can be to have access to a safe, calm and non-judgemental space where we can take a pause in our day to talk through our challenges and worries.

That is why I advocate coaching as a valuable resource in our everyday toolkit  and can provide us with the ability to lead from the front.

Away from coaching you can find me exploring castles and churches, walking, running, and reading comic books!
